Kerala Prof Rajith Kumar Claims Wearing Jeans Lead To Birth Of Transgender Offspring: Govt. In A Mood For Serious Legal Actions

A Kerala professor, Dr. Rajith Kumar is preaching derogatory and sexist ideas by stating that wearing jeans lead to the birth of transgender kids.

Well educated beings make the ugliest criminals and offenders! This stands true for the series of events ongoing in Kerela. Just a fortnight back we had a professor with ‘sliced watermelon’ remark regarding the breast of Muslim women. And to add the misery, a professor from Kalady Dr. Rajith Kumar has stated unrateable derogatory remarks about wearing jeans.

The following statement came from Dr. Rajith Kumar, who has been holding ‘health awareness’ classes in Kerala for several years now:

“…a woman who dresses up like a man. What will be the character of the child this woman gives birth to? The name of these children is ‘transgender’ or ‘napumsakam’.”

In a counseling session in Kasargod, Rajith claims to have a solid reason.  Or to be put as a:

“scientific explanation for why transgender and autistic children are born.”

According to his sexist, transphobic, unscientific and bizarre reasoning, women who wear jeans:

“degrade their womanhood in the process”, give birth to transgender kids.

The teacher makes some unrealistic remarks, exposing his complete lack of understanding:

“…a woman who dresses up like a man. What will be the character of the child this woman gives birth to? The name of these children is ‘transgender’ or ‘napumsakam’. Hijra. Already, more than 6 lakh transgender people have been born in Kerala,”

Transgender persons are those who do not identify with the gender assigned to them at birth. For instance, a person who is assigned ‘male’ at birth by doctors, but grows up to identify as a girl/woman, is a transgender woman, or a trans woman. A person who is assigned ‘female’ at birth, but grows up to identify as a boy/man is a transgender man or a trans man.

Meanwhile, several people tend to confuse between the terms ‘intersex’ and ‘transgender’. ‘Intersex’ is an umbrella term used in a variety of cases, where a person’s reproductive or sexual anatomy does not match the typical definition of ‘male’ or ‘female’.

Rajith, however, did not bother to do any research before spewing transphobic comments.

In an awareness camp, Rajith Kumar is preaching his baseless ideas.

“Good children are born to those men and women who live their lives as men and women. But, when a woman degrades her womanhood and a man degrades his manhood, the girl child born to the couple will have the character of a man. The child that she eventually gives birth to, will be born transgender,”

There was no end to his bizarre claims. He went a notch high in hypocrisy by peddling rhetoric about differently-abled children. He even showcases a video clip to prove his point.

“The children born to rebel men and women have this new disease called autism.”

While proceeding to show a video clip of a foreign family, where both the children are autistic, he further adds:

“Do you see that? The mother is wearing jeans and both her children suffer from autism.”

Government Actions Regarding Rajith Kumar

People have come together to acknowledge the offensive remark on the basis of wrong information. They have identified Rajith’s ulterior legitimate misogynist and sexist motives hiding behind scientific explanation. Reacting to the tone of the public, the state government has a heavy downpour on Rajith Kumar. Meanwhile, on Sunday, Health Minister K.K. Shailaja released a press note barring Rajith’s participation in government programmes. Over the years, Rajith has reportedly been holding “awareness sessions” in several schools, colleges and government offices.

“Rajith Kumar has been consistently propagating superstitious and sexist ideas. After having made a comment that transgender people are born to women who wear jeans, he reiterated the statement in a television show. We are mulling legal action against him for making such derogatory comments,” the minister confirms.
