Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh faces charges for alleged castration of 400 devotees, the case was registered on the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The CBI today filed a charge sheet against rape convict and Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and two doctors for allegedly forcibly castrating 400 followers of the sect, officials said.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is serving a 20-year jail term after a foolproof conviction in two rape cases. The aforementioned is facing castration charges along with doctors Pankaj Garg and also MP Singh.
They allegedly castrated the men at the Sirsa-based Dera, officials said. Meanwhile, a special court in Panchkula is governing the case, wherein the filing of the charge sheet took place.
The agency had registered the case of alleged criminal conspiracy for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means among other charges under the Indian Penal Code against Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and others in 2015.
