Chal Mohan Ranga Review: A ship without radar!

Actor Nithin's 25th movie outing doesn't meet the expectations. Megha Akash's ordinary performance makes Chal Mohan Ranga an aimless watch.

The Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram venture, Chal Mohan Ranga is finally out on screens. The release was amidst a lot of expectations as Nithin zips past a milestone in his career.

Chal Mohan Ranga is Nithin’s 25th Movie outing and fans will celebrate his landmark. Although, the overall movie may fall short to credit the actor’s feat.

Movie: Chal Mohan Ranga

Mohan Ranga (Nithiin) and Megha Subramanyam (Megha Akash) are a couple in love. But somehow lose their path and think parting ways is the best option. While they try to forget each other and move on, the plot revolves around the love conflict.

Mohan Ranga is a wandering soul wanting to join the rat race and make it big in the US. His sly mind finds a way to get to the States. But post his arrival he faces several challenges. He does it conveniently with the help of a friend he makes there, Vilas (Madhu Nandan), and a sponsor he finds, Ramesh (Rao Ramesh). There he comes across Megha Subramanyam (Megha Akash), a childhood acquaintance. His memory is in shadows as he doesn’t recognize her. She moves to the US to pursue her studies. It’s not long before Mohan and Megha fall in love. However, seeing as how they’re as different as chalk and cheese the story further unfolds.

The situational comedy in the on and off relationship of Nithin and Megha is the only saving grace. Krishna Chaitanya’s timing and skills are impeccable and the screens and definitely good if not average. Nithin has done his part. Not a dream 25th movie for the star put his efforts in the movie is still visible. The song ‘Miami’ is the only one of the lot that seems to be a little lip-smacking and energetic. Apart from this, there is nothing applause-worthy in the Chal Mohan Ranga.

The chemistry between the lead characters fails significantly. The ride keeps hitting bumps is so silly, it almost makes you face-palm. Megha Akash seems to be incapable of emoting, with a smile frozen on her face even while her car is being seized and in any other scene in general. Nothing about her character ever seems consistent including the reason why she supposedly doesn’t want to be with Mohan. The cliched portrayal and the aimless character picturization lead the movie to nowhere.

Chal Mohan Ranga is an aimless and a ship without radar. It starts out with promise and has a few highs – if only it had a better story and character development. We won’t suggest a one time watch but it’s Nithin’s 25th so this is an exception.
